Mars Image Atlas

MCP server

Ask an AI assistant to find Mars images

The atlas runs a read-only MCP server. Connect it, then ask in plain words: "What has HiRISE imaged in Holden crater?" or "Give me the JMARS steps for the newest THEMIS image of Jezero."

Server URL
https://marsimages.swapniltamse.com/mcp

Claude Code

Command
claude mcp add --transport http mars-image-atlas https://marsimages.swapniltamse.com/mcp

Run it from your home folder, not inside a code repository.

Claude.ai or Claude Desktop

  1. Open Settings, then Connectors.
  2. Click Add custom connector.
  3. Paste https://marsimages.swapniltamse.com/mcp as the URL.
  4. Save, then turn the connector on in a chat.
